Gold: Greatest Hits is Steps’ first hits collection, released in October 2001. It featured the singles Chain Reaction and Words Are Not Enough. A third single, Baby Don’t Dance was planned for an early 2002 release, however due to the bands split this never happened.
The album also featured the only track (so far) to have been written by all 5 band members; Only In My Dreams.

US Release
The US version of the album was released in 2002 as “Best of Steps”. The version of “One for Sorrow” on this album is the original mix, not the US Mix. The compilation features three songs previously unavailable in the US – “Better Best Forgotten”, “Chain Reaction”, and “Words Are Not Enough”.
